Description:

Exporta are delighted to return to Nairobi for the 5th Annual East Africa Trade & Commodity Finance Conference –now widely accepted as the most important annual gathering of influential business leaders and trade finance practitioners in East Africa. The conference attracted a record number of high-level delegates in 2012 and will build upon its reputation for addressing the critical trade, financial and economic issues of this key commodity production hub.

"Networking with local and international trade finance stakeholders and sharing of experiences was beyond my expectations."
K.W. Mwangi, Commercial Bank of Africa

“A must attend conference, especially now as the continent looks up to take its rightful position in the global export markets.”
I. Edward, Standard Bank

“Very interesting, the topics are deeply entwined with what we do on the real business environment.”
S. B. Shah, Kenafric Industries

“It is a portal whereby corporates and bankers can openly give their views and requirements for the trade wheel to keep turning.”
A. Nuuah, Barclays Bank

“Very well organised and excellent choice of speakers and presentation topics.”
A. Hassan Ahmed, Hass Petroleum

“An excellent opportunity to share views and develop areas of business cooperation with other partners.”
L. Borrill, Standard Bank

“Robust conference, the best minds in East Africa trade and commodity finance shared their views unobtrusively.”
G. Madhlado, PTA Bank

As the EAC’s wide-ranging commodity sectors have attracted global attention over a prolonged period – largely due to rising global demand for agricultural products – the region has experienced a greater influx of foreign liquidity as the appetite for Sub-Saharan risk has increased owing to the potential returns on investment. The conference is well positioned to not only discuss the lucrative opportunities in commodity financing and trading, but also the infrastructure, macroeconomic and regulatory challenges the region faces in unlocking its true potential.
Networking is a crucial part of this comprehensive two-day event. As such, the conference will be a valuable tool for domestic, regional and global organisations to meet high level decision makers seeking new business contacts as well as increasing industry awareness through keynote addresses, informed panel discussions and specialist presentations.

Topics to be covered:

• Exploring the expansion of Kenyan banks into the wider EAC market
• How can resource rich Tanzania unlock its potential?
• The growing importance of financial services in boosting trade
• Is East Africa already one of the next oil and gas frontiers?
• Financing opportunities within the East African oil and gas sector
