Euromoney Conferences launched The Covered Bond Investor Congress in Amsterdam in September 2003. In 2006 Euromoney joined forces with the European Covered Bond Council to produce the Euromoney / ECBC Covered Bond Congress attracting over 1,000 market participants the Congress is the unrivalled, universally recognised premier meeting place for Covered Bond professionals. Euromoney Conferences’ Covered Bond franchise expanded to Japan in 2005 and the USA in 2007 – each conference was the first independent Covered Bond conference in its respective country.

Now Euromoney Conferences is launching the Australasian and Asian Covered Bond Investor Forum on 14 June 2012 in Sydney. The first Euromoney Covered Bond conference for institutional investors in the regions.

Covered Bonds have been at the forefront of bank funding discussions in Australia for months. After much anticipation the US$ and euro deals failed to live up to expectations. The unanticipated domestic appetite for A$ Covered Bonds has given renewed hope to the instruments future. Has Australia adopted this, Europe’s preferred bank funding instrument, as its own?
