The Canadian Debt Capital Markets Investor Forum

Euromoney is delighted to host the third installment of The Canadian Debt Capital Markets Investor Forum on 25 September 2012 in New York. This is the must-attend event for those investing or looking to invest in Canadian bonds.

Last year’s Forum brought together over 200 US investors and Canadian public sector, financial and corporate issuers. Speakers argued that whilst there are contagion risks from the US and Europe, Canada, with its banks and its fiscal house in order, is well placed to ride the storm and outperform its peers.

In February foreign investors purchased $13.7bn of Canadian bonds, the largest monthly investment since May 2010. These inflows were led by a $10.2bn foreign investment in federal government bonds from both new issues and secondary market acquisitions. Most of these purchases were in shorter term-to-maturity federal bonds. The remainder of the activity in Canadian bonds was largely related to foreign purchases of new bonds issued by public and private corporations, mainly in the form of US dollar-denominated instruments.

In September 2012 Euromoney will host the Canadian Debt Capital Markets Investor Forum in New York to highlight the strength of Canada’s economy and the attractiveness of Canadian securities to US investors. Canadian public sector, financial and corporate issuers will have the opportunity to discuss their borrowing needs with US investors.
