The Nigeria Banking and Capital Markets Conference

On Thursday 20 September 2012 Euromoney Conferences will launch its Nigeria Banking and Capital Markets Conference; Financial Stability and Access to Capital, bringing together policymakers, financiers, local and international investors to highlight and debate the need for financing and the development of Nigeria's capital markets.

The Nigerian financial sector upheavals of the last three years, if not completely flushed through the system, are now under control. AMCOM is working well and banking consolidation is again in the wind. At the same time, the equity market is revitalised and the fixed-income market looking past the government shall be next. The stock market is planning to introduce new asset classes to trade and the core trading platform is now running as smoothly as ever.

How prepared is the Nigerian financial architecture for the job it must do in intermediating capital - domestic savings, institutional and international - into productive economic use in the country?
